2013 09.09/22 LIMBO sculpture DUBLIN - Dominick Street corner Granby street
History:
the sculpture was created in year 2.000 for Dublin Castle exhibition Sculpture in Context: http://www.mcbett.ie/-2000-white-blossom-on-paddy-lallys-garden-sculpture-dublin.html
Then in year 2002 it has been set permanently through the Waterford Healing Arts Trust, in Waterford Regional Hospital, to test it's lasting time:

After eleven years, the JJ441 moves from Waterford Regional Hospital, to be temporarily recycled in Dublin.
The work is composed of 441 hand drilled glass jars with tin leads, individually screwed together with bolts.
Eleven years exposition outdoor produced rusted tins and bolts and the growth of lichens colouring the original surface of the glass.
So the work the jars became opaque, coloured, sometimes filled with rain water and other elements.

Time and dismantling also cracked a number of jars, going to be replaced with clear ones.
The new jars are given in adoption, then. They will be filled with personal mementos, to constitute a new individual LIMBO, a suspended place between life and death, paradise and hell, to release them and let them take part of a new separate process.
The artwork is rebuilt in progress and exhibited outdoor in the temporary park, in Dominick St, Dublin 1, till the closing date on the 22nd September 2013, open to park visitors all day.
The jars, made with a 10% recycled glass, where donated in greater quantity to McBett by the Irish Glass Bottle Company, when, in year 2000, she created the sculpture for it's first exposition in Dublin Castle Gardens, during the Art exhibition Sculpture in Context, for being then donated to Waterford Healing Arts Trust.
Since the end of this experience then, LIMBO will be open to any new proposal, adventure or acquisition.
