ALL OUT! One more provocation of ELISABETTA JACOMINI
A personal interpretation of Samuel Beckett's universe
In September 2005, Elisabetta Jacomini (McBett) was in search of a WAY OUT (do you remember her extraordinary installations in Dublin’s Kilmainham Gaol?). Now she has decided to get rid of the materials used for their realization (do you remember all the forgotten/lost debris she gathered in the streets of Dublin?)
Do you remember Murphy’s body?
Well, in order to understand better what this artist now proposes we quote her own words:
“…following the instructions given, together with the other works, recorded in a final video-performance at Kilmainham Gaol next summer (date to be announced) Murphy’s body will possibly be burnt to be recycled (flushed in the toilets of the Abbey Theatre?... as per last will and testament)… But this is a new chapter…
As part of the exhibition WAY OUT, it will be included in a “recycling” performance where all the works – ending the creative cycle – will be dismantled and crushed to be recycled as standard rubbish…"
